Training on Imagineering
23 October, 9.00-15.00, University of Stavanger, KE C-285
Imagineering is a portmanteau combining the words imagination and engineering. The term, imagineering, was coined during the early 1940s.
Since the new Millennium, imagineering has grown to the scale of a mass paradigm, because of the increasing scope and availability of automated engineering. In particular, automated engineering that is enabled by sophisticated software and artificial intelligence (AI) across the virtual-social-physical convergence (VSP) of consumer devices, desktop machines, and Web platforms. The combining of human imagination with automated engineering is enabling millions of vloggers, self publishers and makers to imagineer at high speed and low cost.
Mass imagineering introduces new opportunities for product innovation, design, manufacturing and entrepreneurship. Importantly, mass imagineering radically reduces traditional barriers to bringing new products to global markets. This introduces new opportunities for individuals and for companies. In this two days of imagineering training, the latest developments in imagineering will be explained, and action learning will be undertaken through iterations of imagineering. These iterations will be undertaken at the level of individual products and regional ecosystems.
